Guidelines for signing up with the Jack Russell Ring

1) Sites that have Jack Russell Terriers for sale and breeder pages will not be allowed in the ring. Due to the fact that there are so many Jack Russell Terriers dying every day because of overpopulation and the types of dogs they are, we have decided that we will not support sales of Jack Russell Terriers in The JRT Web Ring.

2) No 'webring pages' will be admitted to the ring, if this applies to you, you know exactly what it means. In addition we're not going to add the site if the link is 'buried' on the page. We want people to be able to continue on the ring and if they have to search we'll lose them. Rule of thumb, if we have to page down more than 10 times the code is "buried" and deep.

3) We don't want pages that are under construction. All good sites should be under continuous construction and renovation, if you have to put up a sign that says "under construction", you're in the wrong place. Your site has to have content, we want to keep our visitors captivated so that they continue on to the next site in the ring, if they happen upon a page with broken links and missing pictures, they lose interest, thats not our goal here.

4) This applies to you have you have a commercial site. If you are selling products, you have got to have products for Jack Russells, so if you're selling dog food, while thats great its not just for our Jack Russells. We have a few sites now that cater to Jack Russells and their owners, we want to keep it that way.

5) No cruelty to animals should be depicted on your site. We realize that this breed is used in hunting and that the dogs have a natural instinct, however pages that talk about the cat that their dog killed yesterday, will not be tolerated. We have had complaints in the past and honestly its just not in good taste. So if you plan on going into gory details (or you already have) about your Jack terrorizing or killing other animals, please move on. We have to be responsible to the Internet community and the world at large, life is precious.

6) You must notify us of any changes that affect the ring, this includes, your email address, the URL that your code is on and any description changes to your site.

7) You have to be willing to make updates to your site, what we mean here is that should the ring evolve, we may need you to alter the code, if you should get accepted you must be willing to make these changes. While this won't happen often, we can't say it won't happen at all. We would like to keep the ring functional and that is going to take co-operation on all our parts.
